Soft card covered with blue cloth. Text with inserted onion skin paper for notes. Ends worn, panels with some wrinkling; following the title page is the gutter Is broken; no loose pages; toned edges and some scattered spotting; the onion skin note page following text page 50 has a chip torn from the bottom edge with some similar damage to page 51, notes involved. Preliminaries; 9-167 pp, not including the note pages. There is a great deal of marginalia and most (I counted 3 w/o) of the pages are full of notes, chemistry formulas, treatment recipes sprinkled with a few anecdotes or personal thoughts throughout. The the former owners name, Dr. E.D. Missner (?), is on the fep. An interesting piece of historical insight into the chemical treatment of disease and disorders of the human body; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall

About very good with a large discolored spot (lightening) on the back board with similar, but considerably smaller areas on the slipcase corners. Gift inscription.
